This is pretty much how we’ve caught most of Gigabyte’s new releases, by checking out the company’s product pages to see if they’ve quietly put up new products. Two new netbooks are up with dual core Atom N550 processors, as you’d expect from any recent netbook worth their salt.
First up is the Q2005, looking very similar to the Jolicloud netbook with the same chiclet keyboard and same trackpad battery apart from some very minor differences, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this pop up at CES 2011 with a bulging 6-cell battery. It sports a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 display, 1 / 2GB RAM, integrated graphics, 250 / 320 / 500GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 10/100 LAN, Bluetooth 3.0+HS (optional), 0.3MP webcam, 3-cell or 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium.
Then there’s the M1005 which looks almost unchanged from the original M1022 series and includes the same docking kit and features the same tiny trackpad. The difference being a new coat of paint and of course the dual core Atom. It’s got the same specs as the Q2005 apart from Gigabit LAN and a 4-cell battery.
