Earlier this month, sources at Android and me heard that the next upcoming Android, dubbed Honeycomb, won’t be version 3.0 as we all thought, but version 2.4 and it would be debuting at Mobile World Congress in February 2011. This would be the tablet friendly version that’ll be shipping on tablets launching in the first quarter of 2011 while Android 3.0 could be out in May.
Today, a couple of smartphone oriented sites have checked their server logs and spotted Android 2.4 devices showing up. Pocketnow spotted one entry and another ‘larger site’ spotted 15 separate entries, with 2 more being from version 3.0 of Android.
