Apple is planning refreshes of the iMac and MacBook Pro for the first half of 2011 that should include redesigns, part suppliers said Wednesday night. The iMac will reportedly get a "new panel size" and a "mainstream," presumably lower price to reach more users. Other details of the all-in-one weren't forthcoming from Digitimes' sources, although a jump to Intel's Sandy Bridge architecture for processors and newer graphics chips are both probable.

POGO IPhone Stylus

Specially Designed for the iPhone Screen
In case you haven't noticed the iPhone's glassy touch sensitive screen is only sensitive to your stubby little fingers. This is because it uses a technology called capacitive touch which measures the flow of electrons through your skin. Problem is, last time we checked our fingers were pretty rounded and not too precise at picking out tiny URLs in Safari. Luckily thegeniuses behind the Pogo iPhone Stylus have magically solved this problem by making a stylus that somehow tricks the iPhone into thinking it's really a finger. What's more, the tip of the stylus is a soft felt like material that has the added benefit of keeping your screen clean while you tap away. How do they do it? Frankly we're not sure, but hopefully it doesn't involve grave-robbing.

All you need to do is follow the three basic steps that are as follows:

  • Connect to a broadband connection, either wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable

  • Sign-in with an existing Skype name or create a new one

  • Start video calling

  • Asus’ AiGuru SV1 skype videophone is available for pre-order in Europe and North America from Skype’s online shop (www.skype.com/shop). It carries a price tag of $299.95/€249.95/£199.95 (approx. Rs. 13,900). It is slated to hit the Asian Pacific market by the end of this year.

ASUS AIGuru SV1 First Mobile Skype Phone

ASUS just can’t seem to stop its success lately. Not only do they have those hot netbooks, but they have just added to their success with the world’s first Skype Certified videophone called the AiGuru SV1.
The AiGuru SV1 allows the user to make unlimited phone calls with a webcam, speaker, and microphone, and to see the person he or she is calling with the seven inch screen.
Of course, Skype is a funny thing. There are those who cannot do without it, and there are those who have never tried it. If you are in the former category, then you probably work in some business that requires a lot of video conferencing with clients. If you are in the latter category, then you should also find the SV1 easy to use with an “icon-based interface and intuitive button layout”.
As for the Net connection, the AiGuru allows for an 802.11 b/g wireless or to Ethernet via router. As for the power, it has a rechargeable battery that can operate for about 20 minutes. That might be long enough for a full video conversation, but that might be enough to move the SV1 if need be.

Kids on the Computer – PeeWee PC Built Tough For Kids

Kids love computers but let’s face it, you don’t want your little one filling your machine up with spyware, washing the screen with their juice box, or “accidentally” knocking it off the desk just to see if it would bounce.  Thanks to PeeWee PC you don’t have to worry about that anymore.  Their new line of 2.0 netbooks gives your kids all the performance they really need in a box that will survive everyday use.
The chassis has been designed to survive multiple drops from reasonable heights and the keyboard is water resistant (notice that doesn’t read waterproof—no toilet exploring for this netbook.)  Its built for kids and with that in mind it lacks a little in the hardware department.  It sports a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor and a single gigabyte of RAM.  The hard drive is also rather small—30GB but chances are your child isn’t going to be raiding the internets for all the “free” movies and music he or she can find until they get a little older.
    Kids on the Computer
Despite the shortcomings, the Pc still sells for a grown-up price of $449 so it’s a considerable investment but may just save you from having to replace your machine before its time.
