Kids love computers but let’s face it, you don’t want your little one filling your machine up with spyware, washing the screen with their juice box, or “accidentally” knocking it off the desk just to see if it would bounce. Thanks to PeeWee PC you don’t have to worry about that anymore. Their new line of 2.0 netbooks gives your kids all the performance they really need in a box that will survive everyday use.
The chassis has been designed to survive multiple drops from reasonable heights and the keyboard is water resistant (notice that doesn’t read waterproof—no toilet exploring for this netbook.) Its built for kids and with that in mind it lacks a little in the hardware department. It sports a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor and a single gigabyte of RAM. The hard drive is also rather small—30GB but chances are your child isn’t going to be raiding the internets for all the “free” movies and music he or she can find until they get a little older.
Despite the shortcomings, the Pc still sells for a grown-up price of $449 so it’s a considerable investment but may just save you from having to replace your machine before its time.
