Nexus S



One thing we love about the first quarter of every year is the line of new and exciting gadgets guaranteed to thrill any techie. Many have been waiting for the arrival of this one. So MB Technews got one.

The Samsung Google Nexus S offers sleeker design and also provides faster performance than Nexus One. Very light and thin, it features many new Google’s applications.

Wonder why many Android fans are eager to get hold of the Samsung Google Nexus S? Okay, let us count:


- Samsung Google Nexus S works Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system with ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor

- fits any hands well at 123.9 x 63 x 10.9 mm and weighs 129 g.

- eye-candy 4 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and features Contour display, multi touch input, Oleophobic surface, accelerometer sensor, proximity sensor, three axis gyro sensor and touch sensitive controls

- equipped with 5MP camera at 2560 x 1920 pixels with geo tagging, autofocus, touch focus and LED flash and also has VGA front camera

- With 16 GB internal storage and 512 MB RAM

- supports 2G networks – GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 and 3G networks – HSDPA 900/ 1700/ 2100

The Contour Display, by the way, describes the display to indicate the fact that it’s slightly curved.

According to Google, the curved display will feel better against the user’s face and will make for a much much comfortable typing experience.

Note that the Samsung Google Nexus S will be the first phone to use the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

Android 2.3 brings a few interesting tweaks and features like improved memory management, SIP internet calling support, system wide copy-paste functionality and a redesigned multi-touch software keyboard.

Samsung’s brilliant Super AMOLED touch screen technology provides a premium viewing experience. Powered by a 1 GHz Samsung application processor, Nexus S produces rich 3D graphics, faster upload and download times and supports HD-like multimedia content.

The gyroscope sensor provides a smooth, fluid gaming experience when the user is tilting the device up or down or panning the phone to the left or right.
