Verizon SKU: HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung SCH-i520 LTE inbound

A leaked screenshot from the Verizon stock keeping unit (SKU) list has revealed that the HTC Thunderbolt and Samsung SCH-i520 are inbound and can be expected to reach users shortly. The HTC Thunderbolt caries the stock code ‘ADR6400’ in the photos (below), which also show that dummy units for display in shops are also at hand.

The HTC Thunderbolt is very similar to the HTC Desire HD. However, it does include a few new features missing on the Desire HD in addition to its 4G LTE capability. The Thunderbolt incorporates a front-facing camera for video chatting and streaming, a large speaker and a kick-stand. It is expected to ship with Android 2.2, with 2.3 a likely update in the short to medium term. The CPU is thought to be a second-generation 1GHz Snapdragon, while the rear camera is thought to be 8-megapixels.

The Samsung SCH-i520 bears a resemblance to a Galaxy S phone and uses Android 2.2.1. However, it will be the first Samsung phone to support Verizon’s 4G LTE standard. It is thought to incorporate Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and is likely to feature a four-inch Super AMOLED display, the Samsung Hummingbird 1GHz CPU and the same five-megapixel camera used in the Galaxy S models.
